In the village of Le Sars, Mrs Danièle ROUSSEL will be pleased to welcome you in her bed and breakfast run since 1989 and located in the family period farmhouse on the 1916 Somme battlefields close to Albert, Thiepval, Pozières and the famous Butte de Warlencourt.
The farm house belongs to the same family and was used for many activities since the Reconstruction up to now : cattle breeding, grocery, estaminet, cereal farms and now forestry.

Rebuilt in 1920 with red bricks, in the Art Deco style, it is situated in Le Sars, in the Department of Pas-de-Calais in Artois, and on the verge of the Department of Somme in Picardy.
Our village has a long history. It was created by the monks of Eaucourt l'Abbaye in the 11th century. The village was completely destroyed in 1916 during the battle of the Somme and reconstructed in 1920.
Our guest house is ideally situated to discover the main battlefields of the Great War : Thiepval, Pozières, Villers-Bretonneux, Bullecourt, Vimy, Ieper, etc. It is 3 km from the battlefield of Flers-Courcelette, where the first british tanks were used on 1916, September 15th, and 1km from the Butte de Warlencourt, owned by The Western Front Association, where the battle of the Somme ended in November 1916.
